Alien Syndrome - Mary as Player 1?

Hello,
I was wondering if there's any plausible way to swap the character order in Alien Syndrome, if only because Mary has the better death scream. As an aside, is this the only SMS game where P1 and P2 have distinct characters? |

I don’t think so. At least Bubble Bobble is the same, even though the Characters are just palette swaps. On the homebrew front, Bara Burū also has distinct characters for P1 and P2. |

If Gauntlet counts, not sure if Pro Wrestling, Asterix, Zillion I, etc. should be on that list… |

That's... not what that tag is for.

D’oh you are right. The individual characters in Gauntlet and Zillion 2 are each asymmetric. My bad!

Battletoads in Battlemaniacs is the same. You play as Pimple through P1 and as Rash through P2, following the same player input scheme of the original SNES version. And no, unlike the similar situation with the original Battletoads, where you play as Rash through P1 and as Zitz through P2, the characters in Battletoads in Battlemaniacs are definitely not palette swaps. |
