[SC-3000] Looking for Mitec2 chip.
Post Posted: Mon Apr 15, 2013 9:51 am
Hello.
I came across an old (and horribly cannibalized) SC-3000, with an empty socket instead of the Sega Mitec 2.
The motherboard was unsoldered from the power source, but I got to power it on and tested the power regulator, that's ok.
All capacitors seem to look good.
The cartridge bay shows no oxydation. I cleaned it and did a continuity test on every pin, inserting a cartridge board, to be sure of its good state.
Everything looks fine and clean, even the keyboard and the external chassis.
All is good, except for that missing custom Sega chip.

I did a worldwide check over ebay, with no luck.
Do you know some local collector or some old repairing lab that still owns SC-3000 spares and is willing to ship to Italy?

Thanks in advance for any kind of help you'll be able to provide.
