Zillion - The Shooting Master

I found an official Zillion soundtrack (of the anime) on a popular torrent site and the torrent has since disappeared. It appears to have been released in 1987 (in Japan) by King Record Co., Ltd. -- I grabbed it even though it took forever because their was one seeder... I figured I might not come across this gem again. It's called The Shooting Master, and it's only one of quite a few soundtrack CD releases surrounding this anime. Below is a rough track listing (which includes the official theme and credits songs)...
1. (Opening) (3:54) 2. A Likable Fellow ~Theme for J.J.~ (3:26) 3. "Zillion" ~The Shooting Master~ (5:02) 4. Space 2387 (3:28) 5. White Nuts (3:22) 6. Apple So Suite (3:20) 7. Peaceful Town (4:59) 8. Cool Fighter ~Theme for Champ~ (3:04) 9. Noza the Terminator (3:17) 10. Burning Anger (3:29) 11. Do Not Cry (3:05) 12. Push ! (2:56) I've provided a download below, which includes the CD artwork. The actual music files are encoded in MP3 format (128kbps). http://www.autumnoftheseraphs.com/zillion_-_the_shooting_master.zip Enjoy! |

Thanks a lot!
I have three original discs: Zillion - Let It Rock! Zillion - Push! Zillion - Rock Candy Haven't noted what they contains, one I recall is a full album and the other are 2 tracks each. I don't have the hardware to record those. |

What are they, records? |

Yes. One is a 12-inch record, two others are 7-inchs. |

Wow, I thought Japan would have migrated to CDs by that time. You need really expensive hardware to make good digital copies of those, else you can probably find an old turntable with a headphone socket for free or nearly free these days since nobody wants them any more.

Wow, if you still have the file, could you please upload it again? Your link doesn't work anymore, and I would really appreciate it. |

You can use any record player just as long as you have a decent phono amp (they are more powerfull then a conventional amp cause LPs need amplifing so much), I have about 3 record players at home, they all work too, all belt driven supporting your SPs, EPs (SPs but on the slow speed) and LPs (the big ones) it also comes with a 72 ring adaptor thingy. |

Ouch, I might not still have it -- I'll check it when I get back home. I think I lost it in a hard drive crash or something. |

Great, thanks! This time I'll download and keep it for next time someone asks :)
Edit: Gracenote knows it (via Winamp's autotagger), and thus I can find more info, like per-track composers and the fact that it was released on 1st September 1993, somewhat after the original anime and game... Most tracks are entirely by Jun Irie (入江純), the first and last say artist Risa Yuuki (?) (結城梨紗), lyrics Masami Tozawa (戸沢暢美), arrangement Shingo Kobayashi (小林信吾). The first says composer Yoshiaki Ouchi (大内義昭), the rest are Irie. Most/all are linked to anime music. So was there a 1993 Zillion movie? link with lyrics! |

Wow this soundtrack is cool.
Some of the songs are featured in the Zillion animated series, remember Maxim I got the 1st 4 eps from you? I believe Youltar released them. |

olaf, I am indebted to you. I can't thank you enough for the soundtrack! Listening to it brings back many fond memories of playing Zillion on the SMS as a kid. I've never watched the anime, but I'd like to eventually. Hopefully soon.
Here's a neat remix version of the theme song: http://www.sendspace.com/file/kaizeb Now I need to go dig out my old SMS zapper gun... |

I don't usually advertise torrents much (or at all), but there's a group out there that's done a fansub of the first six (out of 31) episodes of the Zillion anime. There's tracker info on this page.

I dont mean to revive a dead thread, but I just came across this and I wanted to say thanks for making this available. Zillion was always a favorite of mine (especially the music), so this is quite a nice little find. I only recently even just learned of this anime's existance.. I always suspected there may be from the Tatsunoko credit on the title screen though. Here's hoping the rest of it eventually sees some sort of English sub/dub. |

You should be able to rip the YouTube videos, else I have the files if someone has the server space.

Hmm, I know that you could rip youtube videos, but most of the time the rips are always of low quality
