vgmgen - MIDI to VGM convertor
![]() |
I came across this today...
http://www.liarsoft.org/soft/md.html I'm not sure how well it works, I guess you would need to know what an OPM file is to use it? As you may have noticed, the documentation is in Japanese, which makes things trickier for the likes of me. It's from 2008 so it's been around a while. There's a tutorial here: http://asialunar.info/vgmgen.html if that helps? |

OPM files are instrument files used by software that deals with YM2151. OPM is 95% compatible with OPN that MD uses and I imagine you give the program bunch of OPM files and a MIDI file and it spits out a VGM ....?

This seems interesting.
And although some things are incorrect (like the default pitchbend range, which is 12 semitones instead of 2), there's one very interesting feature that not even my most advanced MIDI tools have - support for portamento controllers. (I haven't yet converted anything, but I'll try to convert some MIDIs with portamenti.) btw: All OPM-files I ever saw had exactly 128 instruments (with many of them being empty), so one file is enough. |

Maybe we can finally make some 2612+2413+2151 vgm files :D

Sorry, but this tool makes YM2612+SN76489 vgms.

Oh, just like mine then -.-
(actually, better than mine, since I don't output the SN76489) I didn't try it yet since I've been kinda busy, but I saw YM2151 in Tiido's message so I got misled. |
