Part name / number of the Game Gear audio socket

It seems my sound problem wasn't related to old capacitor, but instead to the audio socket itself. I have clear sound with headphones, and I can manage to have sound from the speaker if the jack is jacked in halfway through and held at a specific angle. The inner switch is probably old, broken or both, and I'm trying to find the part to replace the socket.
The closest part I could find is the PJ-307A, it's a lookalike and has the same dimensions, except it has more pins than the Game Gear one. Specifically, the Game gear has only the two outermost pins in the middle section, instead of all four in the PJ-307A (2 and 5 in the schematics). The Game Gear has all the necessary solder pads, some are just unused. I don't know what to do with it, can I just roll with this part and cut away the superfluous pins? Or are they needed to keep both the speaker and headphones working? |
