[VGM pack] Out Run (FM)
Posted: Fri Jun 18, 2010 9:03 am Last edited by ValleyBell on Sun Aug 29, 2010 12:53 pm; edited 1 time in total |
It's only a little pack and ... it doesn't sound as good as Out Run 3D (FM). (Especially the trumpet sounds horrible.)
Is this pack worth an upload to the music section? One last note: Unlike the pack in the old music section all loops are correct. That was easy after doing the pack of the Arcade version. EDIT: Attachment removed. |

It seems fine to me. Do you want to add it to the site yourself? I've given you edit rights. | |

I also did a small update of this pack.
It was only a sample accurate -> frame accurate conversion. |

- The Japanese tags are broken.
- Are the loop timings real? They seem very odd. |

I know the looping times are weird, but they should be right and the arcade version has the same loops.
When I did the arcade version, I recorded up to 2 minutes (I think) of the looped sections and it repeated the same small section over and over. I'm sure the Japanese tags are broken because I tagged them on Windows 2000. Unicode in VGMTool2 r5 doesn't really work in Win2k, but in WinXP and higher. |

For both the FM the PSG versions, the porting (which essentially equates to arrangement credit) was done by Yuji Naka. I kid you not.
OutRun 20th Anniversary Box includes this information and a whole lot more. Furthermore, the Game Gear version was ported/arranged by Yoko Wada. |
