MSX FM sound logging with old version of fMSX
![]() |
An old version ( http://www.komkon.org/~dekogel/fmsx.html ) of the fMSX emulator can log YM2413 commands (newer versions of the emulator log straight to .mid), which could then be converted to vgm.
I was thinking that logging the midi player Meridian ( www.opl4.nl ) outputting imported midi files through the YM2413 would be an easy way to ultimately get YM2413 music. Unfortunately, I can't get the emulator to run anything that might have FM music (e.g. MSX2 roms), let alone Meridian. This version of fMSX-DOS should emulate MSX2; it even has command-line options that say it can! So what could I be doing wrong? Anyone out there able to help? And does anyone out there want to join me in petitioning to get blueMSX to log straight to VGM? Edit: Oops, should have known better that OPL4 is not OPLL. I thought it was sort of the same thing, but maybe they accidentally put in two extra L's. |
