I try compile with your batch file. Result is error because it seemingly looking for "object .o", is related to linker or why it will not output a file? (Use WLA DX)
hate to sound like a beggar, but could someone convert Crystal Warriors for game gear to Sms?? I would love to play that on the big screen by putting it on a flash SMS cart on a power base converter.
I think you're out of luck man... while I would also love to see that game ported, it doesn't look like these guys are releasing these hacks publicly anymore as there are ppl producing repro carts from them and profiting off of their work. It was bound to happen unfortunately, and they have ruined it for us :(
I recently bought an retron 5 which supports mastersystem via adapter on the Genesis slot. Started ms shinobi from cart and used the patched ms rom on ms shinobi. It works - but the problem is it can't be controlled. If I used the megadrive pad patch, jump and start is on the same button - unplayable. If I use the master system pad patch - nothing goes.

I just updated the Greendog GG2SMS page, it was way more difficult that I was thinking and pretty long (and I've to make .ips patch, argh).
Fake. Same person than Ultima Exodus, Toxic Crusaders, Snake Rattle n Roll. Probably the same old friend as before (spam by pm, fake GG2SMS conversion on youtube).
Hello, I share my first ultrabeta version about this great game.
I am so baby in hacking, and I never before programing in assembler, I am learning bit a bit
This game was incredible to me for a 8 bit system, and Aleste Series are all wellcome.
- Start Button is mapped to "DOWN ARROW" on second controller
- NO PUSH!!! Pause button on Master System, Game will reboot or crash. Pause is Down Arrow
(I need learn about find space to add more code, but for now optimise code is so hard)
I was testing about other games can be ported to Master System.
Technically all games are able to work in this system
I tested so another ported games, and I don't know really why Megaman is not complete.
I think palette hacking is not working in all stages because some colors are blinking in a subroutine and it is charging a word and not a byte.
If this subroutine is deleted (only a return instruction) or only use a byte, may it work correct
Only adjust screen motor for more resolution and I think no more.
My assembler knowledge is still insufficient, but all can do it.
Megaman is waiting to play in a Master System.
Revo, I'm waiting about GG Aleste port, thankyou ;)
- "Down Arrow" 2nd controller is START/PAUSE
- Game Gear to Master System Palette Conversion Full
- Minor garbage in some stages
- 100% Playable
- Only 1P game (Remember 2P in game gear requires link cable), don't select 2 Player Versus or game crash
- May not work on real hardware, need to polish some code
- FIGHT !!!!
- "Down Arrow" 2nd controller is START/PAUSE
- Game Gear to Master System Palette Conversion Full
- Minor garbage in some stages
- 100% Playable
- Fixed Checksum for real hardware compatibility
- Fixed internal data, now it's a Master System ROM
Conversion by BcnAbel76
Please prove it and comment, thankyou
I try to patch Japanese Rom but it doesn't work because It's another game internal version. If japanese people tell me then I try to create a patch for them
You can compare resolutions in last screenshot added
LOL!!!! Roms are running in real hardware.
Thankyou law81 & RetroRGB
I'm trying to run correct Megaman. For now you can try in your console
Megaman V0.1b (Vingazole V0.1) GG2SMS
- GG remanent port deleted, may cause game don't boot
- Added phantom code for init game
- Work in real hardware
- Palette conversion no well corrected in game
- "Down Arrow" 2nd Controller is Start/Pause
- Full palette conversion
- Minor garbage at screen bosses (GG Resolution vs Master System)
- Pause button at Master System, no effect, now don't crash game
- Now is a Master System Rom
- GG ports removed
- Work in real hardware
- Very playable !
Also tested Megaman V0.1b and works on real hardware but need to fix checksum.
I love this game!!!
PS:
Stop work!!!! hahaha
tested GG Aleste 1.0 patch on real hardware too, very playable. The first round is a little "uncomfortable" to play because the scroll goes to up-left of the screen but without artifacts. The second round (vertical scroll) is better than first.
I tried a few of the hacks of the Mega Everdrive. I like them quite a bit. It's nice being able to play GG Shinobi on the big screen.
I noticed with Galaga '91 that the hack plays on real hardware, but the pause button is set to the same button as an alternate attack for the powered up form.
The Pengo hack is very well done, but it is possible to do a hack of the Japanese version? I prefer that version since it has the original Popcorn music from the arcade game.
Since I am a bloody idiot I've got no idea how to do this stuff so I don't know how hard it is, but can someone PLEASE get to working on fixing up these palletes on GG MegaMan?
In fact, when I get to this part in Stone Man's stage, it basically becomes unplayable.
I've seen a video from someone with an incomplete GG MM hack that looks miles better.
- "Down Arrow" 2nd controller is Start/Pause
- Full palette conversion
- Fixed checksum for Real Hardware
- Now is a Master System Rom
- Adjust some colors to Master System palette
- GG ports removed
- Some garbage arround screen
- Game playable, enjoy!
- Thanks Angela for be patient ;)
- Japanese or English Patch
"Tested GG Aleste 1.0 patch on real hardware too, very playable. The first round is a little "uncomfortable" to play because the scroll goes to up-left of the screen but without artifacts. The second round (vertical scroll) is better than first."
GG Aleste at game gear, I don't modify any stage, all are in game. See youtube ;)
For JomasterII
Megaman is not playable, version 0.01c.
Decoding is so so so so so hard, but everyone can learn and hack for correct this game or anothers.
"I've seen a video from someone with an incomplete GG MM hack that looks miles better. "
This is a fan made game, and not a port from Game Gear.
Game Gear Megaman is an original Capcom/SEGA game
For RetroRGB
Thankyou!!!! Great !!!
Royal Stone image is incorrect uploaded at hacks page

Yes, i know, i mean that because of the style of the scroll the first stage is a little uncomfortable to play because the enemies appears suddenly and by surprise hehe.
I will test that Royal Stone... great game!!! :)
EDIT:
i have tested Royal Stone on real hardware Master System 2, all works but when i save at the inn the game reboots. I do not know if with a donor cartridge with battery or in everdrive will work.
Megaman is not playable, version 0.01c.

Aah, thank you for clearing that up!
As for the video, it's actually not fanmade, it's a conversion.
Either way I'm not doubting that this is hard, the work you're doing is amazing.
It's hard to me trace routine with before hack, then I redone from "0" this hack.
I do game playable with some bugs in game palette, but more near it should be.
I extract the blinking palette routine when you continue pressing , causing a lot of palette errors, then you hear sound effect, but megaman or background don't flash
- Game now is Playable (colors aproximate to original)
- Real Hardware working
- Enjoy ;)

JomasterII, this video is an emulator, this screen is well corrected in version 0.01.
My version is playable in real hardware, maybe this person don't add my code to init game at real hardware, it requires more than remove GG ports
law81, hi!!! Royal Stone is stored in a 512KB (4Mbit) + 8KB Backup, then I supose it crashes when you go to record savegame, it doesn't find backup electronics.
Thanks for try it and comment !
This game is coming along very nicely! I know you're already working on it and are probably aware, but there are a few things to mention:
- It would be great if Start wasn't on the second controller. Can it be a combination, like 1+2+Up for start? Maybe that's not the best idea, but I wanted to mention it.
- It seems like the gun won't shoot outside of the main screen area, but now that the screen is extended, it means that you can't hit enemies far away:
- Sometimes the extra stuff on the screen makes it look like there's a dead end, or as if there's a platform to walk on, when it's really a hole:
Like I said, GREAT WORK! I just wanted to help report some of the issues, as the Mega Man games are always people's favorites.
- Yes, it's possible to remap start to 1 player controller keys combination, but for now, remap to 2nd controller is much easier, and in this game basic is correct palette.
- In other games is possible I'll change it for use only 1 controller
- Too many games are no correct the scroll because it is programed for developers to standar Game Gear resolution, not for Master System.
Go to for example Fusion emulator, Options, Set Config and activate GG FullSMS, now charge a gg rom, and what you see is what you get.
- To correct scroll, maybe not difficult but I don't know how! :(
Anybody can help me?
- For now, I am sharing my work, sometimes hard hard hard work, to include games can be run in Master System or Megadrive/Genesis playing TV, When I learn more I'll update hacks as possible
- Always you can cut a paper and do a marquee at your TV and get GG resolution :) , but you are playing at TV !
- "Down Arrow" 2nd controller Start/Pause
- Full palette conversion
- GG ports removed
- Now is a Master System Rom
- Game playable
- Garbage arround screen
- Apply patch to Japanese release or Japanese translated to English release
-Enjoy!
