Sound test

On a Japanese Game Gear, turn on the console with [Start] held. (This only works on a Japanese Game Gear.)

See ending

When the SEGA logo appears, press [Left] x2 and then wait. When the copyright screen appears, press [Right] x6 and then wait. When the title screen appears, press [1] x9 and then wait. When the 'Press Start Button' message appears, press [2] x4 and then wait. Instead of the rolling demo, the ending will now be displayed (albeit with graphical glitches).
