New SMS by TecToy

Yeah, they don't rest!

TecToy is releasing the dvt-g100, a dvd player + karaoke + 100 sms games build in!

http://www.tectoy.com.br/dvd_game/hotsite_dvtg100.asp

I was thinking: hey cool, play sms games in component video, nice and clean video! But the manual just paint it clear: the sms just works in composite...oh crap!

Here's a screengrab of the games list. Either it's capable of both SMS and GG emulation, or there's some new hacks too. Of interest:

Creature Capture
Dr. Limpeza
Mina Terrestre
Nim
Pense Bem
Sudoku

...which are unknown, and "Master Pong" which sounds a lot like Pong Master.

This news is awesome, what's the price? When is it available?
Brazil has NTSC? 110 Volts?
Where could this be ordered from?

Brazil uses a non-standard PAL format that is not NTSC compatible and does not give colour on European TVs either.

HAHA, so I'd have to RGB-mod the machine first!
thanks.

I was wondering how cool it would be if it was possible to access the DVD reader from the "sms implementation" :)

But thinking twice, with only 8KB RAM, it would be almost useless :(

This DVD Player IS VERY expensive, even for brazilian market, because here we can find DVD Player's with NES Emulators Built-In that runs roms from CD's, for the half of the price of this one!!!!
Another point, it doesn't run DivX video format, doesn't have USB, HDMI and 5.1 analog connections....
This DVD Player will be for sure a deception in brazilian market, because with R$ 499 (the price it cost here) (about USD 250) we can buy DVD Recorders with even multi card format readers from even good brands as Philips...
If it at least runs the roms from CD's, i would think in the possibility of buying one, but in that way, well, no way!
