SMS Power Cheats Wiki

With permission, I've taken Raccoon Lad and rouken's excellent (verified) cheat lists and entered the data into our Wiki, making a special section for them here:
SMS Power! Cheats Wiki The idea is, everyone is now able to test these cheats, add any new ones, clarify confusing descriptions, and also re-verify that they work (since fake cheats are really annoying). I think I noticed a few missing cheats along the way, too, so have a look! There are also a few cases where the SMS and GG versions seem likely to have the same cheats, which are worth trying. Another thing we'd like to collect is Action Replay and Game Genie codes, so feel free to add them if you like - but again, only codes you've actually tested! Of course, if anyone finds a new cheat, please post it there too :) We're also interested in collecting screenshots to illustrate the cheats. Please contact me to get the Wiki's image uploading password, if you would like to help with that. |

Just with action replay and Game Genie codes, can we submit MEKA patches too?
for example I have fount unlimited time for Enduro Racer but everything is on my other PC so I will have to transfer them accross. Also how do you want these codes formatted if we add them? |

There's a template page linked to suggest how to do them.
Meka RAM patches in the form RAM[aaaa]=dd can become Action Replay codes in the form 00aaaadd ROM patches are more of a hassle to encode into Game Genie codes - I wrote a little script to do it which is here. However, there is no such thing as an SMS Game Genie so it's somewhat weird to produce such codes.
For the museum, we may end up storing such codes in unencoded form and encoding as PAR/GG/whatever. Regardless, I think it's best to stick to PAR for RAM and Game Genie for ROM, for now. |

I uploaded a bunch of screenshots showing some of the cheats (games A-L), and hacked a load of games to discover new cheats (eg. FIFA soccer, Bubble Bobble), some of which have unknown effects, and to understand how some cheats worked to make them easier to input (eg. Lion King, Jungle Book).
Please contribute, even if it's just screenshots verifying cheats. |

That Lion King code looks a lot better than that annoying D-pad mashing one. Thanks a lot.

We've spent a bit of time and effort to move the cheats section out of the development wiki and into its own "WikiFarm". Which basically means this:
http://www.smspower.org/cheats/ Please browse, test, and feel free to add, edit and update to make it the best Sega 8-bit cheats section ever :) Screenshots are particularly useful to help prove that a cheat is real, and not yet another endlessly-copied mistake. |

I was just wondering can we post cheats for demos?
For example I was playing Anti ISDA Warrior and found the memory address to obtain an unlimited amount of shots. This makes the game really easy but finding these things is half the fun of playing a game. |

How can we create a game page at the new site...?
|

Yes how do we do that? Maxim the instructions are very ambiguous on the page, I just can't follow them, is there a step by step guide somewhere? |

The instructions there were applying to the site's previous location, but I think they're outdated right now. Please tell me if I'm wrong, Maxim.

Sorry, I didn't notice that inconsistency. I've edited the cheats index page now, to make more sense :)
Jacko, you can add cheats for homebrew if you like, as mentioned above please add them in the form of Action Replay or Game Genie codes. |

No probs.
I will specify homebrew in brackets when I submit it on the Wiki. Thanks Maxim. Oh one more note this is a little OT but is it worth putting music trigger hacks there or is there already a list of them on the Wiki. |

Music trigger hacks aren't cheats. We have a list of them in the music forum, anyway.
Don't bother with the brackets. |
