SG 1000 region detection
Post Posted: Fri May 30, 2014 1:56 pm
Did any SG 1000 based systems have an intentional method for games to check region?

If not, does the Master System expose its method to SG 1000 games (meaning such a check wouldn't work on original hardware)?

Sure one could manually PAL optimize by analyzing timing, but I don't know much about pre-SMS homebrew to say whether it's been attempted.

If you are running on a SMS yes you can use any of the SMS features, it doesn't restrict the hardware when running SG-1000 software (in fact it dosesn't know it is running SG-1000 software).

Unlike the GG which restrict its feature when running in SMS mode.
