DNS problems (?)

I was having problems resolving smspower.org today, until I switched to http://www.opendns.com - obviously, anyone else with problems can't see this message so it's of limited use. I have no idea if there is something happening with the host to cause this.

Yup, there were problems earlier. I could see only part of the site. Now it seems to work.

The server IP address changed recently AFAIK. There's nothing more to do than wait for the new IP to propagate.

Yes poor old aussies are still having problems, I only managed to access the site through the google cache, everything seems to be up to date.
Oh yeah and Steve when we next chat I think you and myself shal reflect on the current topic on the IRC channel. Very funny heh (not) |

Solutions (any one will solve it):
1. Add this to your hosts file: 72.9.150.200 www.smspower.org
Don't know where your hosts file is? Try the next one. This one will break the site in the future anyway. 2. Follow the instructions at http://www.opendns.com/start/ 3. Change your DNS server to 4.2.2.2 using the above instructions (probably works) I did the second one, but your ISP's DNS servers ought to update fairly soon, unless they suck (which makes option 2 above a good choice). |

Hey everyone, I thought i'd let you know I was able to access the site again at around 12.40am Tuesday morning, I got home 10 minutes earlier is wasn't working so my DNS server must have updated before the time I clicked on the Google Cache link.
One thing I have noticed on my end is that my DNS server address was recently changed (my DNS is now in Adelaide) but I doubt that would have anything to do with it. |
