Tennis Ace small note

When I was young, I enjoyed Tennis Ace, but I always regretted that the game does not have the real names of the players.
Today I was looking at the box of the version without title screen. http://www.smspower.org/Scans/TennisAce-SMS-EU-R-NoTitleScreen and found that there were the real names of the players "J.MCENROE" and "S.GRAF". I suppose at the time, Sega did not have the rights, but maybe one day a prototype will emerge with the names. A few months ago, I thought of making a patch to have the real names and corrected a misspelling because "Italy" was written "Itary". I still have not done it, maybe one day ... In case it would interest someone, I post a list of correspondences. M.WINEDL -> Mats Wilander I.LENDER -> Ivan lendl S.BURGER -> Stefan Edberg A.GYPSY -> Andre Agassi J.MCKIN -> John McEnroe B.BOOKER -> Boris Becker J.CORNER -> Jimmy Connors M.METHYL -> Miloslav Mečíř Y.NOVA -> Yannick Noah P.CATCH -> Pat Cash S.GROSS -> Steffi Graf M.MAVRAT -> Martina Navrátilová C.EVEAT -> Chris evert G.SABATI -> Gabriela Sabatini M.MARINA -> Manuela Maleeva E.KINOUE -> Etsuko Inoue |

It's really easy to edit names players with a Hexa editor, but there is not enough space to put the first name and family name, you will have to keep this format: "P.CASH".

S.BURGER is Sergi Bruguera

I know that. And it is precisely because I could not do something good and quickly that I put this job at the bottom of my backlog.
Sorry to contradict you, but S.BURGER is really Stefan Edberg. He is defined in the game as a Swedish of 23 years (which was the case in 1989). Sergi Bruguera is Spanish and was 18 years old in 1989 ;-) |
