Upgrading GG screen?

Anyone tried upgrading the GG screen?
I'd imagine it wouldn't be very costly to do so but maybe it'd be a lot of work figuring out how to connect up a new screen.
I've a few Game Gears and some of them the quality of the screen is abysmal.
I've seen a gadget called Tiger TVNow which only costs $25 to buy and has a 3" screen which is supposed to be good so I'm thinking buying screens to fit the GG for very little money should be possible.
Anyone care to comment on the possibilty of replacing the Game Gear screen?

There is no straight replacement. This has been asked before, several times, I think.
With the RGB decoding working OK, I guess one way would be to build in an RGB decoder (TV Gear, as seen in these forums), and feed that RGB video to a nice small monitor/screen. However, the GG's image would appear in a small area in the centre of your replacement screen, just as it does on a TV.
In short, forget it.

ak,
Your Game Gears' video quality may suffer from some bad electrolytic capacitors on the circuit board (a pair of 0.47uF caps in particular). Try replacing these first!
