Meka Emulator Controls Question
Post Posted: Tue Jan 11, 2005 1:02 am
I am running the latest version of Meka for Windows, 0.69b. Everything is working great except on issue. I can't start a 2 Player game. I am using Aerial Assault as a test game. I can use the Player 1 joystick to move between 1 Player and 2 Player on the opening screen but I can't seem to get a 2 Player game to start. There are six possible controllers to configure. I have the first two enabled and the last four disabled. Here is the relevant section from my INP file:

[Keyboard 1]
type = keyboard
enabled = yes
player = 1
player_up = key Up
player_down = key Down
player_left = key Left
player_right = key Right
player_button1 = key Left Control
player_button2 = key Alt
player_start_pause = key 1
player_reset = key 5

[Keyboard 2]
type = keyboard
enabled = yes
player = 2
player_up = key R
player_down = key F
player_left = key D
player_right = key G
player_button1 = key A
player_button2 = key S
player_start_pause = key 2
player_reset = key 6

You can see that I changes the "player_start_pause" and "player_reset" for Player 2 but it didn't work with the defaults either.

Second question, Can I also enable Joypad 1 and Joypad 2 and play with either the keyboard or a joystick simultanously?

Thanks,
John

The problem you are having is that Aerial Assault, you're talking about the Game Gear version I guess, use 2 Game Gear and the Gear-to-Gear cable for the 2 players mode. This is simply not emulated now. :(

Yes you can do that.

I'm not real familiar with the GameGear. What would be a good game to test to see if my player 1 and 2 controls are set up properly?

Thanks for your promptness,
John

You can't do that for Game Gear games (unless in a few specific cases). Master System games (or SG-1000) would work.
