My heavily modified Tectoy SMS 3
Post Posted: Thu Aug 13, 2015 10:47 pm
Hi, there! I want to show my modded Tectoy Master System 3.
I cannibalized a card adaptor slot from a Master System that would not be possible to fix.

Then, I soldered the adaptor following the pinouts that is here in "SMS Power". I want to thank who made these schemes!

I also made an AV port, that goes through an P2 pin. This way, I need to use an RCA to P2 cable, but don't need to make various holes in the case.
A LED was put to indicate the power on status. It's plugged in the 5v conector pin from the LM7805 voltage regulator through a 500 ohms resistor.

And, finally, I swapped the original power supply with a switched one. The old PSU with transformator was giving 18v instead os 9v. Now the LM7805 may work without getting hot!

The next steps will be made a hole to the card adaptor slot and put the SMS Boot Loader BIOS to allow the system to read game cards.

This work won't be possible without the informations provided in this site. Thank you all!
