I'm in the middle of adding YM2413 support to my VGM preset dumper VGM2PRE. I know that SMS FM only allows one user instrument preset at a time, but can someone point me to SMS VGMs that actually use a user instrument preset? I was told Galaxy Force might be a good set to start from, but I'd like the list to be as varied as possible so I can make sure my YM2413 user preset handling works properly.

From what I can tell, there are three apps that can actually be used to make music with OPLL: FamiTracker (with the OPLL variant VRC7), zzo38's vgmck (MML to VGM converter), and ValleyBell's M2V_OPLL (which only has a textbox one can paste register values into). If someone knows others please let me know and I can go research their instrument file formats and such.
