I've been wanting to make a Zillion hack for quite some time. I've got quite a few pointers marked, etc. However, I was wondering if anyone has any information on the level/room format? Thanks ahead of time.

Would anyone like to help me hack it up at some point? I'd like to make a whole new room setup and everything... but hacking ROMs isn't my thing at all. If anyone has any spare time, likes Zillion, and wants to take on a project -- you're needed. ;)

EDIT: Almost a year exactly since the original post... lol... I'm so lazy. (:

I'm still trying to figure out how to program the VDU, and a crash course in assembler while I'm at it.. can't help you there :p

Olaf, some people here should be able to help you, but we'd rather try to get the knowledge spread to more people rather than doing it on request. Make a little effort and in exchange we'll help you :)

I get what you're saying -- and will do. It's just a lot easier for me if I have someone pushing me along. ;P

EDIT: By the way, that Shinobi post is amazing.

I was just now searching on Google to try to see if anyone has maybe already made a Zillion hack, and I came across this post. I just now posted a request for a Zillion hack a few hours ago. Unfortunately, I'm no good at coding either, not nearly good enough to be able to do something like this. If you check out my post, although it's long, it does have some good suggestions for a super hard experts-only version of the game. Here's a link to that post.
