What is different between GG ASIC models?
Post Posted: Tue Aug 19, 2014 6:40 pm
Hi,
just some questions for curiosity: between single chips and multiple chips version of cpu+vdp of the GG, did they change the building size process? And what about power consumption of both versions did they differ a lot?

Bye

I don't know about the memory, but the power went from 4-5 hours to 6-7 hours. With a LED mod on the later model, you can get 8-9 hours.

Yes, you replace the CCFL(Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp, I think is what it stands for)and replace it with two(or more)LEDs.

I can imagine power consumption sure will be better even if probably light leakage at the angle would be visible. Anyway surely better than a recent TFT replacement considering using the tv out mod.

Anyway i was not expecting the one asic model was that good in term of power usage. Probably the project benefit for a lower size building process.
