Fantastic Dizzy VGM/VGZ

I'm dumping some tunes from the Game Gear version Fantastic Dizzy into VGM/VGZ format, but I'm wondering if there's a better way of ripping them than using Meka? It's a nice proggie, but it's frustrating when I'm having to play through the game in order to dump the tunes and have other sound effects added from hitting stars, swerving around the various tracks on the mine cart mini game and rumblings coming from the mine.

Hacking required

To rip the music the way you are asking, you need to hack the game to play the music you want when you want it, and also to not play any SFX. Is the GG version at all different to the SMS version? Hacking SMS games is (sometimes) easier because you can hack the pause button routine...

Yes, apparently they are the same.

Sorry for leaving this so long to reply to.
