May I wish everyone a happy Bockday. As I’m sure you are aware, Bockday (25th November) is an international holiday; people the world over are given the day off work or school, and everyone gets free cake, and balloons and flags festoon the streets. Parades featuring giant inflatable Sega characters are held in major cities, and the Eiffel Tower is hung with a banner reading “C’est plus fort que toi”. Children attend and play Janken furiously in the streets for high stakes. In the evening, fancy dress parties are held where the partygoers dress as terrorists, and a prize is given to the most convincing disguise. Meanwhile, throughout the day innocent 8-bit coders undergo a voluntary imprisonment as they are set to the task of creating some kind of demo before midnight in their chosen area on that day; many choose Hawaii out of a desire to cheat extra minutes out of the system, but few pay heed to their pathetic arguments, realising that the true deadline is midnight BST (Bock Standard Time). The propensity for bug reports in related software packages is indicative of the rise in 8-bit coding activity, as is the audible background hum of “Gah!” being mumbled over and over again as bugs are found and then hunted down in these demos.
So, as you are tucking in to your traditional Bockday roasted turducken, spare a thought for those poor souls busy programming, not having time for food, personal hygiene or even toilet breaks. As they wallow in their filth, please remember that it is only through their toil and labour that you get cool demos to watch and/or play on Bockday night. Your support means a lot to them. And don’t believe the crap that today is America’s “Thanksgiving”, we all know it’s really Bockday. Maxim |

If you read carefully, I think that Maxim was referring to himself. Suggesting that he plan to release something at midnight (MST)... I liked this positive view of a SMS future. Maxim, you should devote yourself writing SMS-related novel. Thanks. |

Well, I didn't release it yet :( There has been some private sending of stuff to Bock but sadly I did not get enough coding time to finish in time for yesterday, which I thought people would figure out but apparently many didn't; Bockday is an international holiday commemorating Bock's birthday. My demo will be released, but it may well be in a week or two. I can only apologise and self-flagellate.
What do you think my PS disassembly/retranslation is? It'll be my life's work at the rate it's going. Maxim |

It's that time of year again... The long dark nights, turkeys with worried looks on their faces, mince pies in the shops for the last two months... It must be Bockday!
Let's all gather around the Bockday tree and exchange cartridges, drink ALE OR MEAD, transform into Mouse-Man and walk on the ceiling, and wish Omar happy birthday and good luck for whatever he does next... |
