Hi. I just finished Wonder Boy: Monster Land (coin-op version) for the zillionth time since its release back in 1987, and still I'm amazed by the expressive power of the last stage (the labyrinth) tune. Every time the same old magic catches my heart: the music sets the perfect mood for a armored knight on his way to slay his most powerful foe.
So I went online to find more about Shinichi Sakamoto, the master composer behind West One vgm... but I found very little info about him. Disappointing, since he's a true soundtrack genius. Could you, good Sega devoted fans, point me to some place where to gather more information about him (the complete list of his works, where is he now, if he's still working on vgm and so on)? Please. I work for a videogame magazine here in Italy, and I'd really like to write an article about him: he deserves to be remembered forever. Thank you very very much Andrea Babich |
