Now this is the good life: Kids are asleep, chips are in the bucket, beer is in the bottle, and brand new SMS software rains from the sky! Happy 18th anniversary SMS-Power! :) This is going to be a great night...

Is it normal that if I log out I can see the votes? :
|
Posted: Fri Mar 27, 2015 8:54 pm |
I also see the votes if I log out, not a local problem... |

You can also see them when you're logged in. Just click on "View Results". You just can't vote if you're not logged in that's why you don't need to click "View Results" before seeing them. ;) |

We should have fixed them now, let us know if some are still visible.

I had a wonderful sms listening and gaming experience as I went through all the entries until I fell asleep. Very impressive stuff you guys have made!
I look forward to really enjoy each entry in more depth in the coming days. Oh - this will be the SMS Easter holidays :) |

I've posted a news blurb and.. we got another unreleased game!
http://www.smspower.org/forums/15417-WildSnakeForGameGearUnreleasedAnAmazing18th... I hesitated in how to post, if I should do separate posts. Eventually I thought that the release of WildSnake will attract attention from a few sites so it'll nice to have the competition entries showing in the same post. |

When does the voting end - for how long can we still vote? Please excuse me if it has already been posted, but I simply can't find it.
|
Posted: Mon Mar 30, 2015 7:26 am |
So far it's set to 30 days, but we may reduce that to avoid losing interest - usually voting lasts about two weeks. If nothing else, it will wait until I have voted :)

I have uploaded all the songs to Youtube and embedded them in the relevant places. That should make listening a bit easier for most people.
|

If you plan to reduce it, please let us know... I tend to use as much time as it's available to try everything more than once and possibly also on hardware, and listen to the music during successive days before casting my vote... :) |

thanks! i uploaded version 1.01 at http://www.smspower.org/Homebrew/ZombiTerror-SMS , but it isn't appearing there yet - does this delays a bit, or would be better keep sending them via e-mail? |

Voting Results!

Went through the numbers today and crunched the results!
Voters were tough on coding entries this year, but it is also a testament to the quality of entries :) http://www.smspower.org/Competitions/Music-2015 http://www.smspower.org/Competitions/Coding-2015 Some notes: - We have cancelled votes of people voting for their own entry (as we did in the past years) - We have cancelled one vote which appeared to be either abusive either made in error. Some of the coding entries were probably hurt by submitting updates while some people had already voted. If that is any consolation, Bruce Lee was second-to-the-last entry last year. Some of the games here have really good potential for updates so here's hoping that some of the authors will want to keep improving their games :) Thanks everybody for participating! This was one of the most accomplished competitions we had in term of quality. Lander2: |

Congratulations to jmimu and db-electronics!
And thanks everyone for a super great experience. It was my first compo ever, and I have had a nice couple of inspiring and motivating weeks on the forum, checking the various threads, trying out stuff, etc. I already look forward to doing it all again next year :) Thanks to Maxim and Bock for organizing it all! |

Congratulations everyone, winners and everyone involved. Lots of interesting things to see, lots of still unexpressed potential in many many creations. I also noticed Bruce Lee wasn't much more than a nice screenshot last year, and now it become a very complete and polished game, so I really hope to see this happening to the many unfinished and very promising entries we've seen.
As for me, I always take the lower positions, but, hey, that's the way it is. I'm probably more inclined to create tools than to use them myself. edit: we need some 'press report' of the results and hopefully some Internet word-of-mouth to show what this community is doing, and grow the userbase and creations quality and quantity year after year. |

Congratulations and thanks to everyone who participated for providing such interesting stuff!
I wish there were more times in the year when many cool new homebrews are born!
I wouldn't say your scores are that bad! There are still a lot of 6s and 7s. It seems like people don't like demos that much (which can also be seen with Bruce Lee) - your score is only 0.32 below Bruce Lee. So I'd say that's not too bad! :) |

Congrats to the winners.
It was very impressive, and i think it is awesome that people are creating such fantastic stuff for the SMS still. Thanks to everyone who enjoyed my tune. :) |

Never said that :) And it's a fact many many entries were better than mine so I'm really not complaining. |

This is true. I was amazed by the quality and number of entries. Congratulations to all participants and, of course, to the winners who really deserve it. |

Congratulations to all. It's good to see past entries getting recognition in updated works which were not rated enough last year! My team itself used PSGLib =)
And we didn't even had prizes this year! |
