Here is my entry for 2015 competition: "Lander2".
It's a sequel to my 2013 entry "Lander1".

The purpose of the game is still to make your rocket land safely on landing areas (horizontal with red dots) without using all your fuel.

How to play:
- press 1 to start and pass texts
- press 2 when you lost to restart from the first level
- press down to decrease vertical speed
- press left/right to change horizontal speed
Warning: acceleration is in the opposite direction of the direction you press!

I hope you'll enjoy it!

This game is amazing! I haven't completed it yet, but I definitely plan to. If this was sold as a real cartridge, I'd buy it. It's got that kind of gameplay that makes me just want to keep on playing, despite the fact that I suck at it.

Love the faux parallax in the intro. This game is really well polished.

I love the music. Simple, yet really adding deep space atmosphere. In space, it's just you and your rocket...

Super nice intro! Very playable and addicting game. Apart from Lander 1, I have never played lander games. But I understand now that it is a genre...

Thank you!
I hope many people will access the last levels, there are things to see!
Unfortunately, it becomes super hard...

Yeah, I completed it on difficulties 1 and 2 so far. The last level is really cool!

Although it's perfect on Fusion, I've tried it on SMS 1 Everdrive and the rocket sprite is replaced by... letters!

(also the life bar on left).

I also experienced the same sprite issues while playing it with the SMS Plus emulator.

Very polished entry. I especially love the intro and the short tutorial. The gameplay is deviously addictive. I can't seem to stop giving it yet another try. Well done, great work.

Thank you very much!
I'm happy to see some of you reached the end, with this kind of game it's not easy to change the difficulty without changing the level map.

Here the difficulty setting impacts on:
    - fuel refill and usage
    - landing tolerance
    - rocket size

I tried the game on TwoMBit and my real SMS2 and didn't see that bug. I have to investigate...

I tried this on hardware yesterday evening. The game is fine and it runs almost perfectly on hardware... I just noticed some snow effect in the bottom part of the screen. I guess you might try to update palettes few scanlines later and it'll be perfect :)
The game is very fun and well made, and I just completely suck at it ;)

I like this game even though I suck at it (I'm a terrible gamer).

The intro is pure awesomeness :)

Version 0.B
Post Posted: Fri Apr 03, 2015 5:11 pm
Thanks!

An new version has arrived!
From v0.9 to v0.B:
- graph bugs fix
- add score when game over and before each level
- fix and improve tutorial
- tutorial is skipped for difficulty>1

For the SMS1 bug, it seems that sprites tiles number are wrong (a 64 difference on each...).
I think it is a matter of sprite attribute table address, I'll look at that.
