8 Slot demo attachment

I have this 8 slot demo game changer and I can't seem to find any information on it. My dad worked at Macy's and got it when they removed the in store display. It seems like it was originally mounted inside a cabinet. I am not sure if the reset and demo/play switch are original or if my dad made them.
Has anybody seen one before? imgur/FTv6H05 imgur/9lLizMJ imgur/MVbIHjM |

Nice find! Looks similar with this one:
http://www.smspower.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=52009 Have you tested it, does it work? Are you interested in selling it? |

I tried hooking up my SMS but it wouldn't turn on. I opened it and it looked like some of the caps were bent and shorting. once I got it back together I managed to hook it up and it seemed to work (I can only barely see the screen with the RF connection). It kept resetting after like a minute. Turns out the switch was upside down.
So it seems to work just fine. You can't select a game directly. Instead you cycle through each slot using the attached button (IDK if the console reset works too). I was wondering what it might be worth. In addition to this I have like 28 games w/ cases and like 10 other cartridges. 2 game cards. 2 game card to cartridge adapters. 2 SMS's(I think they both work, only 1 power supply) a set of 3d glasses, 2 phasers, and assorted controllers. They are just taking up space here and it would be nice to see them go to someone who will appreciate them. |

Could you please take a pic of these? I don't remember seeing such an adapter before... *Edit: I just remembered there was a picture of such an adapter on a Master System Kiosk manual, where the card was inserted on the side, forming 90 degrees angle with cartridge slot. I can't find a photo, but I think Estimated Prophet has the manual. |

The sample carts/cards are somehow valuable but rather common. There's always a bunch on eBay that people are trying to sell for a premium price (eg. $99) that are NOT selling, but if you ebay them regularly they'll go easily.
The 8 slot thing and card adapter are valuable (and historically valuable, which is more important) but it is hard to put a price on them because they are uncommon items. There's no public records of those being sold. Also, I want them :) |

The Card to Cartridge adapter is definitely cool for anyone with an SMS2. And with a Bios-mod it also allows all SG-1000 card-only games to play. I'd love to have one, right now I'm making my own little tower of doom with a cartridge adapter, card catcher, and a card game on top of that. I should just go with the Megadrive and throw in a PBC and an Action Replay. But then I wouldn't be able to play SG-1000 games. Oh well.
I love your Card Adapter. As a side note, was there ever a way to get card connectors without resorting to butchering an SMS1 or Card Catcher? I can't believe it was tailor made for Sega only. |

Maybe ordering part number 209-5020 when they were still being made. I doubt there would be any around anymore. So you have to desolder one from somewhere.
So the 8 slot is really that rare? I would think at least a few would be floating around. |

Surely rare, but I don't think you'll find many people interested in buying it.
You may start asking offers to see what you could get... |

I evidently want to buy it, but I can't put a price on those things. Really rare things that are not pursued by most collectors because they are not on a "check lists" actually go for very random prices. (less rare things that are on "check lists" go for higher prices) | |
