What's the "Releases" page for?
Post Posted: Wed Jul 23, 2014 3:13 pm
I've seen that some games that have a list of releases have a link to add the "Releases" page at the bottom?

Take, for example, the Out Run (GG) page. It hast a list of releases, but there is a link at the bottom with a dotted underline to create the Releases page.

They are created manually within the Games-Releases/ folder (unless that folder is already locked? it should). Please DO NOT create or manipulate releases data. This is among the most critical bit of data in term of the accuracy we are aiming for, I am still working on them and it probably take years until everything is filled. If you have release information to submit or correct please post here (with evidence). The problem is that every website on the planet have some form of info but they have lots of inaccuracy and are just copied from each others. So everything I'm added is verified, checking for exact title casing, potential casing mismatch, cartridge label, etc.

That's the internal page for OutRun GG Brasil:

No, don't worry. I'm not interested in manipulating the releases list. I have no ifnormation about releases. It just caught my attention that the game page has a "releases" list and in the bottom there's a link to create the releases page as if it didn't exist already.

If I ever have any information on releases that are not listed, I'll PM you. But that's very unlikely, because I'm no expert.

It links to a "base" page name, but you are supposed to use suffixes for each release type. It's a convenience to give you a starting point for the page you're trying to create.

Much of the way the site works is based on conventions for page naming, but it's not exactly specified or enforced anywhere.

Bock, click the group attributes link on a page to lock down its group. I just set it to @siteadmin. Non admins can't see the attributes.
