Can we have a page for each system or system type?

Yes we should! In fact all the Games pages have a link to non-existent Hardware pages. The reason they don't exist yet has to do partly with our approach to maintain accurate and quality content and "articles" styles pages are harder to make that straight fact-list. What should we put on those pages? Wikipedia style articles? Straight facts with release dates and more country-localized info, specs?

I was thinking of taking content from Wikipedia (with the correct attribution) as a foundation and then editing it to suit us, although maybe that is less satisfying than doing it ourselves. The nature of the Hardware section (ie non-existent) suggests the current approach is not working too well.

This is a Wikipedia type website only for sega, no pollution from Ni****do. http://segaretro.org/ I also found an old version of what we want to do.

Best not to confuse wikis and Wikipedia, especially wikis using MediaWiki.
So, who would like to write the content for these pages? |

In the vein of making them welcoming pages (especially for the less popular systems) we can include ads and game screenshots, so it could act as a primer to the system.
Down the line the page could also feature exhaustive listing and photos of release variations, packagings from the different countries, etc. That's one thing that has been always missing. |

I can write a bit for the Sega game gear, but not all of it, mostly because I don't know everything about the game gear.

You're allowed to crib off other sites, just don't copy/paste and beware erroneous "facts".

Ok. How do I load the page to add to it? Do you guys have to make the page?

1. Go to the Games section.
2. Search for any game. 3. In the game page, all links underlined with dots point to non-existent pages. Click the link and you'll be taken to an error page with the option to create page at the bottom. |

I got to the error page, but there is no "create page" option. Do I have to be a moderator or something?

Yes indeed, you need to be in the wiki editors group, and you now are.
