Thanks

Hi, I recently bought a Master System 1 which didn't read games and needs a new cartridge connector, would it be possible to just buy the connector from you?

If anyone's interested, I'm considering selling off my Gender Adapter as I've been experimenting with the two cartridge port-based ones to improve their compatibility. I'm thinking maybe US$14-15 shipped would be fine?

Hi Bock,
Do you still have one for sale?
I'd like to play European sms games on my Japanese sms.
I live in the Netherlands. I can pay with paypal.
Are there any drawbacks to this solution over other converters?
It is fully compatible with all European games?
Wonder Boy III works like in the vid with full fm, right?
The game is still in English if you go into the shops, etc?

They are available. Check the thread for compatibility discussion, it isn't compatible with 100% of the games. I'm not sure about WB III it worked for me but there are conflicting reports.

Thanks, I'll try to have yours shipped this week.
For some reason they've been selling steadily recently, I am shipping 3 or 4 every months. I think it have now paid back for what they original cost me so it goes back into paying hosting :)

Thanks! Will ship yours tomorrow.
Note that I increased the price from 13 to 14 recently to reflect for generally higher shipping cost since 2006.

Does this adapter work fine with Alex Kidd: In Miracle World? I already have one of those common very long green adapters. Every other cart works fine, even the PAL Sonic 2. Alex Kidd always glitches at (or shortly after) the title screen. The cart does play stable in my US systems, so it's not defective. I'm curious if there is a Japanese bios incompatibility with this game, or perhaps it's the adaptor I'm using?

Also does anyone have a SMS2SG1000 for sale as in the pic? (Or know of a place I can get a new one)

Those are still for sale at AliExpress, which is where I got mine. They sometimes show up on eBay as well.

AliExpress seems sold out at the moment. Have you have any compatibility issues with the SMS2SG1000?

You can use it to play export SMS games on a Japanese console, although I suspect there will be some compatibility issues.

Just for something to do ive designed my own.. not that i have a JAP console to use it with, but it works as a proof of concept anyway. Just need to fix a couple of small issues and tidy some things up and i can make some more if your still interested. Should fit nicely into a case, will get a file out later and make an opening for the socket and see.

Hello,
Did you receive my e-mail? I e-mailed on March 9, asking for your address with English characters (I can't input Korean characters in French post office form). You can send me a private message with answer. Check your e-mails too :)

Gender Adapter Pictures

This looks like a wonderful product which I am looking at possibly purchasing.
If possible though, can a few better quality pics be shown?
Particularly, the diagonal version adapter and which areas specifically are cut and how much is cut from the console.
Also a few higher res pics of the top cover placed over the adapter without cutting, showing the 2mm gap around the console.
It would help me make a decision.
Thanks heaps SMSPower :)

I recently received one and installed it in an MK-2000, but didn't think to take any pictures. The only cutting was to sever the tiny plastic tabs that held the inner expansion connector cover (not the outer reusable "door") in place. I'm planning to retrieve these both from storage in a week or two, and I will try to photograph it then
Edit: just to clarify, it's the angled model and I use the mk-2000 with the case on and the expansion door removed
Edit 2: added some pictures, do they clarify how it works with the angled adapter?
sms-gender-adapter-2-small.jpg (68.64 KB)
door opened, already-cut-off connector cover temporarily back in original position to show approximately how it looked before cutting

Compatibility with Master Everdrive X7
Posted: Tue May 28, 2019 10:50 am
|
Hi, I came here to ask for some insights about compatibility with Japanese Master System (MK-2000) with the new Master Everdrive X7. I had no reactions to questions in the official Everdrive Forums so I try here:
1. Has people extensive experience on the gender adapter with X7? Is there some SD card problems? Does the in-game menu work? Does the FM sound work? What games simply does NOT work as of now?
2. Any experience with SMS2SG1000 adapter sold in AliExpress with MK-2000 and X7?
Insights even to some of the questions would be much appreciated.
:-)

I received the Gender Adapter today and it works fine, thanks! All my games work except for one:- Rastan PAL UK cart just gives a black screen. Can anybody confirm if this is an incompatible cart?
EDIT: OK I just looked through the thread and Rastan does have problems. Is there any way around this?

Only by using a patched version on an Everdrive or equivalent.

I have seen one simple hardware modification (have yet to do it myself). Just soldering one wire between adapter and Japanese Master System should get almost perfect compatibility. (Rastan, OutRun and others). I can't post links so search for this forum for thread titled: "SMS Everdrive on a Japanese SMS console". There`s some information and pictures of the modification.
EDIT: But of course, playing PAL 50Hz game on a NTSC 60Hz system can have other undesired problems.

Just as an update to the compatibility of games on a Master System MK-2000 with this adapter.
NTSC Wonder Boy III works every time with this gender adapter.
NTSC Cloud Master also works every time.
NTSC Rastan works perfectly.
Hang On/Astro Warrior Double Pack does NOT work.
Note that none of these games work well with the top-loading cartridge adapter - here's what happens when you use it:
WBIII might work if you try it many, many times - but mostly, it just doesn't work.
Cloud Master will pull up a blank blue screen.
So, yes, Wonder Boy III, at least my NTSC version, works with 100% compatibility with this gender adapter.
Hope this helps!
