I haven't been able to load this cart yet, I'm trying to get it running. Possibly the Cartridge TABs just need a cleaning, or it might be a bad solder joint somewhere on the board.

When I get it running I'll post a Screen shot for you.

I scored one of these today for $5 while randomly browsing Cash Converters.

I find the Engrish names quite amusing.

I suppose you're asking him what the REAL game is (inside), and you know Robo Army is a early Neo Geo game, right...?

No problem. The game in Robo Army is a hack of the brilliant game Zillion!
Never seen another.

Is this a modified Zillion (with some changed title/sprites) or just the original game?

It's a close representation of the original. I have made a video of the start-up and run through screens.

OK so it looks like an unmodified ROM, good to know! (Remember that Game Gear can play Master System games). I haven't actually seen proper Asian bootleg hacks yet, similar to how TecToy modified some of their games with sprite swaps, etc.

Good question! To me it looks like the SMS Tec Toy hack of Street Fighter,
But that could be the same? I will take some screen shots.

Another one of the "Gear xx in 1 Screen Select" cartridges, this time 30 in 1.

Games:
01. Sonic [the Hedgehog]
02. Ninja Gaiden
03. [Super] Tetris (apparently an SMS title)
04. Pac Man
05. Columns (square blocks are different from the official version)
06. Pengo
07. Woody Pop
08. Spy vs Spy (Master System)
09. [Great] Baseball
10. Astro Flash (Jap. version of Transbot, SMS)
11. My Hero (Master System)
12. Pip Pot [sic] (Master System)
13. Teddy Boy [Blues] (Master System)
14. Goust House [sic] (Master System)
15. Satellite 7 (Master System)
16. Hang On (Master System)
17. [Great] Soccer (Master System)
18. [Super] Tennis (Master System)
19. Bank Panic
20. Luck Sonic (Sonic with 9 lives)
21. Ninja (Ninja Gaiden with 9 (?) lives)
22. Mr Pacman (Pacman with 8 lives)
23. Pengo Egg (Pengo with 6 (?) lives)
24. Bom Bom Ball (Woody Pop with 8 lives)
25. Super Sonic (Sonic with 32 lives)
26. Big Gaiden (Ninja Gaiden with tons of lives (shows as 0, so 256, maybe?))
27. Push Egg (Pengo with seemingly unlimited lives)
28. Life Pacman (Pacman with seemingly unlimited lives)
29. Arkanoid (Woody Pop with seemingly unlimited lives)
30. Super Pacman (even more lives than Life Pacman!)

I found an interesting quirk: If you play any of the Sonic games (just happened to me when I played Luck Sonic), the game might sometimes start in SMS Mode and the palette gets weird. See pictures attached below. The game also doesn't respond to any button presses if that happens.

Sorry about the bad quality. Game Gear screen and phone camera don't mix well.

Not seen one like this before. No idea who T&T are?

The games seem like proper Game Gear hacks. Full screen no cropping.

Galaga 92
Columns
Ninja Gaiden
Outrun
Woody Pop

There is a box for this one. This thumbnail is in Google images (ebay) but I can't find a larger one. The original auction no longer exists either. Maybe the box would lead to learning more about this.

Alex Kidd!

Another game that should have been released on the Game Gear. You have a recognisable figure on the Master System, and bundled with the console you'd think this would have been the first game on the Game Gear

It is an official demo cartridge so doesn't fit in this thread. We released the dump here:

I didn't know about the "COMMING SOON" screen before. Added new screenshots now. Thanks!

Two more multicarts. Not really worth the effort to manufacture, but these could have been early.

Game Gear Games I've never seen
Post Posted: Thu May 30, 2013 1:13 am
These games were found in a flea market in Texas and posted to the Texas Retro Gamers Society forum. Just curious if anyone has any info on them. I'm assuming pirated games. Just the SMS versions flashed to a GG cart?

I found the street fighter on the bootleg page. Did not notice the Golden Axe on that page though. Should I post the pic there as well for documentation?

It's always good to get more documentation, yes. Most likely SMS games, as you said, possibly with the usual pirate hacks to remove copyright text.

I've come across the "Supreme 140-in-1" cartridge (with the Sonic Triple Trouble background label) at an auction site, and intend to buy it.
Has this cartridge been dumped yet?
If not, I have no trouble sending it to someone who can dump this cartridge, if someone can pay for shipping and can send it back to me when they're done. =)

So the "Supreme 140-in-1" cartridge arrived I was mentioning in the previous post, here's the list of games that are on there... Haven't booted all of them up yet, but obviously there's quite a few duplicates. Actual titles in parentheses, some can be pretty easily implied; so titles like Alleyway, Arkanoid and such are all "Woody Pop".

Sonic 4 (Sonic & Tails 2), Mortal Kombat 2, Columns, Woody Pop
Pango, Bubble Bobble, Galaga, Drol, Tennis, Choplifter, Music Brick
Maze Ball, Penguin Land, Balloon Fight (Super Bubble Bobble)
Fly War, Maze Game, Hyper Tennis, Air War, Ladder Man, Air Fox
House Fighter, Crazy Soccer, Bank Thief, Kid Mouse, Joe Gun
Dice Boy, World Boxing, Pit Kid, World Olympic, Star Force
Bomb Man, Crazy Racing, Super Car, Flying Car, Air Bomb
Tunnel War (Zoom 909), School Fight (My Hero), Crazy Cycle
High Runner, Super Baseball, Ice Penguin (Pengo), Bubble Dragon
Flying Bugs, Castle War, World Tennis, Air Lifeguard, Super Runner
Jumping Car (Monaco GP), Hyper Soccer, Mr Hello (Dr Hello, a pirate Dr. Mario clone)
Gun of Bank, Bart Mouse (Hustle Chumy), Shot Gun, Dice Game (Teddyboy Blues)
Super Boxing, Ice Kid, World Sport, Hill Fight (Exerion), Music Puzzle
Alleyway, Crazy Car, Robot Fight, Thunder Force, Zoom Force
Road Hero, Supercycle, Pro Ladder, World Baseball, Home Alone (Ghost House)
Super Soccer, Monstser (Galaga), Flying Doll, Super Tennis, Aircraft
Cargo Finder (Lode Runner), Super Monaco, World Cup, Doctor Mario
Mr Jack (Bomb Jack), Motocycle, Smoke Gun, Dice War, Pro Boxing
Bart Iceman, Olympic, Pilot-X, Colour Brick, Brick Ball, Ice Land
Foam Game, Xevious, Tunnel Fight, Street Fighter, Road Racing
Super Runner, Pro Baseball, House Panic, Pro Soccer, Crazy Bank
Mouse Maze, Pro Tennis, Helicopter, Maze Man, Racing Car
World Soccer, Virus Killer, Super Jack, Motocross, Car Racing
Star Fight, Boxing, Pit Pot, Hyper Sport, Exerion, Puzzle Game
Arkanoid, Sno Bees, Bubble Man, Sidereal (Galaga), Doll War (Drol)

Again, if anyone finds it worth the trouble to get this cartridge dumped, let me know.

Pirate multi games are generally hard to dump, as they swap games in a way that hides them from a dumper and generally don't contain easily removed rom chips. If you can open it and take a photo, that might help. If you see any chips with glass windows, cover them up immediately.

Ah, thanks for the reminder. No "volatile" memory on this one, it appears!
Here's what it looks like.
Interestingly, there's no screw holding it shut either. Just had to pry open the cartridge at the top with a flat screwdriver.

EDIT: Oh right, the backside, almost forgot. Hope the picture's clear enough.

Kenseiden for Game Gear.

100% intact, no scruffs or the like. Still works 100%. No box or manuel.

My pirate Sonic 2 SMS cart from Brazil was the same way. No screw, just pry it open with a flathead.

So I recently bought a Game Gear with 3 games. And this one caught my eye. It had a bunch of titles on the front cover, and a little button on the cartridge. So I popped it in and well.. all the games work fine!

1. Magical Taruruuto-kun *thanks for the help KingMike :)*

2. Griffin

3. G-Loc

4. Shikinjo

5. Wonder Boy

6. Space Harrier

7. Ninja Gaiden

8. Galaga

Assuming the games on the box are on the game, #1 is Magical Taruuruto-kun.

Hi everyone.

I registered ages ago but I think this is one of my first posts ever.

I came across this thread while googling a pirate Game Gear cart.

I bought this one a few days ago. It looks a lot like the 10 in 1 posted by NonShinyGoose and Gears for Games, but it has 9 games instead of ten.

Just like the aforementioned 10-in-1, this one has the very same rubber switch (does not work at all in mine) and a similarly styled label.

Game List:

Donald Duck in The Lucky Dime Caper
Alien Sydrome
Super Monaco GP
Halley Wars
Wonder Boy
Devilish
Pac Man
Columns
Woody Pop.

You can switch between games by turning the Game Gear off and on, since the stupid button doesn't work. In some cases you get a blank screen and you must switch the console off and on again, but it will obviously load the next game, not the one you wanted to play. It's very frustrating since I bought the cart to play Wonder Boy and it seems this one is the hardest to load.

The games are switched in a fixed order but it seems sometimes a random game appears (namely Columns... I'm sick of you, Columns!!!).

With a different cartridge design (does not integrate smoothly with the upper console border), a monochrome label and a stupid rubber siwtch, this must be one of the crappiest pirate cartridges ever. Not even a menu screen? Talk about lazy and cheap pirates.

--------------

I also have a pirate Wimbledon Tennis cartridge since 2001 (ibought it used with the console). The box is generic and crappy, but the cart looks legit to me (?)
