That's nice, but since Sukeban Deka is an '80s game, why didn't you use the '80s movie?

Nice !
I spent lot of time to search pictures/informations etc, but I didn't find this one...!
I think the one I found make the cover more "spectacular" !
But thanks for your help...sometimes It's very hard to find good pictures to make covers.

I wrote two lines at the end of the auction,
in french and in english

Quote
*Ce jeux a fait l'objet d'un cartmodding. Il n'existait jusqu'alors qu'en japonais et pour le format SEGA Mark III.
*This game is made in western format to function properly in PAL or NTSC Sega Master System. This game was only released in japan for the SEGA Mark III.

Not enough ?

It could be more clear, e.g.

Quote
This is a "reproduction" - a modified version of the game written to a new chip in an original cartridge, with a new label. The box is original but the inlay is new.

Even better, make a webpage explaining how you do it (you can emphasise the difficulty and work involved) and link to that.

Nice work on Sukeban Deka, I didn't think anybody would actually play that one, haha. The game totally sucks, but it was fun and easy to hack.

You should do a Story of Mio cover next! I'd love to have a repro of that cart since it was my first translation hack I released so it has some nice memories for me.

Thanks ^^
So i've planned few things between now and mid of next year.
First of all, finished covers/booklets of translated games (translated in French)
I've just finished to make Golvellius, now I'm starting Phantasy Star, then Y'S...
Also a booklet of Dinosaur Dooley to finish (few illustrations to draw).

Then make covers for Story of Mio, Woody pop, Alex Kidd Bmx, Megumi Rescue and Pat Riley Basketball.

Did you work on the translation of HighSchool Kimengumi ?
I've translated it in French, but some graphics (title screen and results) are compressed...

No, sorry :( Did you try Maxim's SMS tile decoder? That's what I used for Story of Mio's title screen. Fortunately most SMS games use the same type of compression so it's worked on the ones I've tried it on.

It seems to use a different compression. Maybe the original translator can provide the necessary tools or info.

Like Maxim says it seems to use a different compression. I've already change somes "letters" to get "accents" on it (é,à,ù...), these graphics were not compressed in the rom. So I'll ask to the original translator if he can help me for the title screen.

Edit. I've ask to Nick (original translator) some help.

While I'm waiting a response of Nick, i'm making some graphics.
"Le College Fou Fou Fou" is the french name of the anime.
I've used the 16 colors used in Meka on the original title screen. It's also the same size as the japanese one.

I've found an old post where Nick and Maxim talk about the Highscool Kimengumi compression scheme (but it's nearly like chinese for me ^_^, even if I understand somethings, I don't know how to use )

Hmm, I didn't remember that topic :) I'll see if I can write a tool for it.

Your image is likely to be too large. You can either expand the ROM to 256KB and rewire the pointers or you'll be restricted to the original screen's compressed data size, and that sort of graphics compresses less well.

I posted the details to the wiki:

http://www.smspower.org/Development/Compression#HighSchoolKimengumiRLE

The decoder there is actually slightly optimised by me.

I think a blue and white manual would suit the Master System Better than colour.

Really good artwork on Golden Axe Warrior! Map and everything is great. And the keyring is cool =)

Tanks guys ;)

For the booklet, I wanted to make something "new/unique", more impressive. Only the cover is in colors, interior and back cover are white and blue, just like regular booklets.

I will use the same process for my next mods, Phantasy Star, Y's, Spellcaster and Golvellius. At this time, Spellcaster, Golvellius are completely finished (maybe, i will add/have to make a map for golvellius...), for Phantasy Star I just started the manual (cover is done), for Y's I've only started some research on the cover.

The 2 sides of the keyring ^^

Hi guys !
With Tycho we decided to make booklets for Dinobasher, Pat Riley and Hook.

For the moment I've started to make the dinobasher mod.
I've make the first and last page of the booklet.

Much work to do on Dinobasher, first redraw the cover (too bad quality posted in the scan section) and needed to make a poster like the others codemasters games. The cover will be completely redraw. I think it will be 8 languages...

...so I need some help to translate the booklet (to get a proper translation)
Texts will be based on the NES version of the game (witch is exactly the same game, called bignose the caveman)

Edit. If anyone have the booklet of Hook on Game Gear (and can scan it, it will be wonderful ! )

Pat Riley's cover finished. (US style)
As always, it have been fully redrawn with illustrator & Photoshop. Only the picture of Pat Riley is taken from the genesis cover (and cleaned with photoshop).

Booklet will be made later.

After a long time, some new games ;)

My finest work (until today), a little compilation of 4 Alex Kidd games in one cartridge. A little momentary switch on the cartridge to switch between games. And a cool feature, the sega logo is illuminated (1 color for each game) ;)
+ a 32p booklet in 3 languages (UK, DE and FR)
+ a little "catalogue".

-

-

-

I've only made 15 cartridges, Bock will have the last one.

A litle video.

Next, more classic
Woody Pop in western format

the manual is started, based on the gamegear version.

I've finished the Hook manual.
32p, 8 languages !

More to come ;)
Nba Jam, Phantasy Star Retranslation (in french) and I hope, one day, Dinobasher (some translators always needed; Swedish, Finnish and Italian !!)

Wow. just wow! Do you intend to sell any of your Alex Kidd repros? If so, how much would you sell them for (I'm based in the UK).

Regardless, this is some great work. :)

As i've said above, i've made only 15. The 15 are already sold (in fact, they were sold just after the proof of concept). It's a long job to make them not like a basic repro and I don't like to make xxx times the same things.

But thank you very much for your interest ;)
