Is there a VGM Tracker available?

Is there a tracker where you can create your VGM files by tracking them instead of ripping them from an emulator? I know, for example, that you can track SID files using GoatTracker, but the output extension is different. Is there a program to track your own music as VGMs with plain square waves and noise?

There is a rather convoluted and tricky route...

- Make your music in MOD format, bearing in minbd it's going to be on PSG so no samples, 3 tone tracks plus drums, etc.
- Convert it to asm source using Mod2PSG (see this page).
- Make it into a "rom" using an assembler.
- Play this rom in an emulator and log it to VGM

Others (fx^?) might be able to help you with the details.

Look in the tools section on S8-dev. If you have more questions, that's the forum for them I think.

Create a Tracker for VGMs!

I think it would be better if someone would make a program designed to be a tracker. It can track VGMs, can be both loaded and saved in this format. It should have the same interface like FastTracker II had. Is someone making a program like this or willing to make this program? I'd like to know.

I've been thinking of this. I'd have to use a proprietry format for loading/saving, but I might be able to import VGMs. I can certainly export them. Stay tuned...

Maybe I can do this job. I don't know if I will really make it, but I can try. Surely I can read VGM infos... I don't know how to visualize them but maybe I do it.
Bye
