Here's Woody Pop. The artwork I have modified from the game gear version. Took me a few hours to do the artwork alone. The game itself is runnable, you can watch the demo and get it to run but you cannot play it because the controls are all messed up. This is because this game requires the paddle controllers which were not released in the western market.

If anyone is able to hack the rom so it'll work with the gamepad I'll send you a copy of this game for free! :)

It's not hard to do, the problem is that the game is designed for the ultra-twitchy motion of the paddle so you'd have to have ultra-twitchy gamepad control, making it quite frustrating. Maybe you could use the second button as a "turbo" control?

I'm guessing they reworked the game somewhat for the GG version.

Could the GG version be hacked to run on SMS instead?

Isn't there a tec toy version? Like a built-in one on their newer console... I'm pretty sure that's designed for the gamepad. Has anyone dumped the rom?

Well we could back port the GG control scheme into the SMS ROM.
But it's really meant to be played with the Paddle Control. You are only damaging the game by not doing that.

Anyone who can bother making or buying reproductions should be able to obtain a Paddle Control in my opinion.

MyCards only have the card art. Here's the best I found in a brief Google Images search:

Alright I did pat riley artwork in the "buster douglas"-style. Has an error on the back says "16-bit cartridge" I'll get rid of this next time I print it.

Would smspower be interested in my covers? I'd be happy to share but they are large (5mb bmp)

Yes, we could host them here.
5 mb seems very small however, if they are BMP files. Whats the DPI (or resolution) of your files? You want to be doing those things at 300-600 DPI no less.

I start at around 6000x3000 with hook and pat riley (not exactly sure but its around there) and end up at around 1500x1000.

I'm not a great artist (I do the whole job in paint and gimp) so if someone would want to make them look even better I don't mind...

It's good. I just meant I suggest keeping the higher resolution you can, for better printing. :)
Does 1500x1000 looks good enough when printed?

1500x1000 is pretty close to 150dpi. I don't think it'd look very original.

I bought hook on ebay before I was able to make them myself and I assure you that the graphics are much better than the copy I purchased.

Of course it will not be as good as a mint, brand new game but better condition than an original which is very sun faded or many ex-rental.

This works extremely well for replicating the original font used on these old-style cases:

http://www.fontslog.com/moderntwosxtnitcstd-light-otf-31036.htm

I'm pretty sure that's a not-entirely-legal download (everywhere else I've seen it has been asking for money). To get the original look you need to hand-kern it to be really squashed together.

Also, Mega Cartridge refers to 128KB games. It think it should be "The Sega Cartridge" for 32KB games.

Edit: the linked site seems to no longer offer it for download. So watch out for the font police.

Whoops, I attached it

I still don't have the game on a PCB but I did the artwork and have a box on my shelf ^_^.Took me all day to do this one! Any good?

I would suggest removing the product code MK-27061-50 as it refers to T2: The Arcade Game, and the barcode since it seems a bit pointless on a reproduction.

And add a line somewhere noting it is an unlicensed reproduction.

Haven't had time to do much work but I made a Sonic's Edusoft cover. I wasn't happy with the one I got when I bought my repro of Sonic Edusoft back in 2010 so I made a new one Sorry for the low res wanted to save bandwidth (30% size).
