The Dinosaur Dooley (SMS/KR), Madoh Monogatari III [v1] (GG/JP)

Being around since ten years doesn't prevent us from finding new games from time to time! Of course, the best games are already well uncovered, but nobody will complain against a brand new - mediocre - game. We have The Dinosaur Dooley for the Sega Master System (Agigongnyong Dooly), a weird Korean unlicensed horizontal ground shooter featuring everyone's favorite unknown dinosaur and a cheap rip off of Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit! Credited "(C) DAOU INFOSYS 1991" and "(C) INNOVATION TECHNOLOGY 1993", there's not much more we know about this game. It was mentionned in some magazines, and advertised in US along with other shady products from Innovation, but apparently never made it to US players. How long is this game, I'm not sure. I found it quite unbearable to play for a long time without reaching Level 2. Please post if you manage to get to it.
Second release, extremely minor, an alternate version of Madoh Monogatari III - Kyuukyoku Joo-sama [v1] for the Game Gear. This variation is related to battery backed memory initialization, and shall not affect any player. Madoh Monogatari is an interesting series by Compile, spawning several systems. Game Gear versions have yet to be translated to english for everyone to enjoy. Anyone fancy handling that project? Don't forget to vote for Coding Competition 2007 and Music Competition 2007 entries! |

I like Dinosaur Dooley, it's a fun, fast paced little game.
I made it to level 2, where the background is more forest-like, and the dino is no longer wearing sunglasses. To beat the first level you need to collect two keys from detroying enemies, then go in to the red building and beat the kid at Rock, Scissors, Stone, unlike in Miracle World these are random, but you don't die if you guess wrong. If you win the Janken match then you'll make your way to the boss fight, if you beat the boss then it's on to level 2 you go. |

I was playing it a bit, and like playgen said, you have to get 2 keys, enter a building, win a janken match and beat a boss. There's 4 stages each with a boss and a final 5th boss. Also, Stage 3's music is a rip-off of Spin Doctor's "Two Princes". There's some credits at the end if anyone wants to know.

Is this the version that was supposed to be released in the US? Otherwise, why is Innovation Technologies mentioned?

Dooley is walking along in the title screen hence the blur, plus the words are moving about abit |

It's from a Korean cartridge I have. Obviously it wasn't released in US. Perhaps there's different versions of it.

To clarify, was this a retail copy or some sort of proto? I ask now because someone has brought this game up on another site. |

It's a retail copy I have. Where? |

Is it just me or does The Dinosaur Dooley monsters and bosses have the exact patterns as the ones in Dynamite Dux?
The power-ups and the scrolling seem similar too. |

In case anyone still cares, me and filler are working on Madou Monogatari 1. All the hacking is done, just waiting on the translated scripts.
