I've corrected these packs:

    * Song numbers added in FM pack
    * song names consistent to both versions
    * Info file updated in both packs (West One > Westone)
    * Also, some tags had minor errors in both packs:
    ** release year 1992 in many songs
    ** wrong japanese system names (because of a previous VGMtool?)

edit: done

Should the company be Westone Bit Entertainment or stick with the name at the time if the game being developed?

The latter. If it had been bought by EA, for example, we wouldn't write EA; it is the same logic.

Wonder Boy III The Dragon's Trap VGM track names
Post Posted: Sat Nov 29, 2014 11:26 pm
The Monster World Complete Collection official OST has track names are aren't matching the game credits.

Subsequently some of the assumed (but never confirmed) VGM packaging naming are incorrect. At least, "Mind of Hero" and "Side-Crawler's Dance" are incorrectly named.

See the table below:

-- Official OST ------------- Game Credits --------------- VGM Pack -----------------
// Monsterland Revenge     // The Last Dungeon          // The Last Dungeon
// Vs. Dragon              // Vs. Dragon                // Vs. Dragon
// Opening                 // And now...                // And now...
// Marine                  // Monster-Town              // Monster-Town
// Adventure Zone          // ??                        // Mind of Hero (INCORRECT)
// Desert Zone             // The Danger Zone           // The Zone Danger Zone
// Ending                  // Endless War               // Endless war
// Staff Roll              // The Dragon's Trap         // The Dragon's Trap
// Shop                    // --                        // Shop (The Dragon's Trap)
// Mind of Hero            // Mind of Hero              // Side-Crawler's Dance (INCORRECT) >> Mind of Hero
// Take It Easy            // ??                        // The Monster's Lair
// Room BGM                // It's a Treasure Box       // It's a Treasure Box
// Game Over               // --                        // Continue
-- Official OST ------------- Game Credits --------------- VGM Pack -----------------
                           // Side-Crawler's Dance

I believe Mr. Sakamoto posted about this himself many years ago. I guess I'm too lazy to fix it...

Edit: also this: http://www.smspower.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9740

Argh, I forgot about it myself.
Not sure where Mr Sakamoto answer is. I asked him back already.

There is a missing song, a jingle: "Item found" (アイテム入手) It can be heard on the CD "Monster World Complete Collection Original Soundtrack". It should also be included in the VGM pak.

Our policy is to not include short jingles and sound effects, regardless of what is on CDs.

We're nothing if not inconsistent. We made a special case for samples, but they really ought not to be there. The criterion is really, is it music? If you think any of the above should be excluded then we should take a look and rebuild the packs.

I like having a few short jingles at the end of VGM packs (not too many).

It's definitely music! Jingles are often short fanfares based on
triads, broken chords or scales. Sound effects consist mostly
of white noise, dissonances, glissandos, simple notes etc...
