So, you've never played a Sega 8-bit game in an emulator, or you've never listened to a VGM or MP3 file? But you want to try? Here's how.
Music competition All entries will be available in both their original format and via YouTube, which may be lower quality but your computer should definitely be able to play them. Coding competition To run these you will need an emulator. There are many emulators but I will describe how to use "Kega Fusion" because it is the best emulator that also looks like a regular program. First, go to the Kega website and download it. Now unzip it somewhere on your computer. Next, run, Fusion.exe (for Windows; you other guys can figure it out yourself.). Now choose "Load MasterSystem ROM" from the File menu and choose the downloaded zip file for a competition entry. It will start playing. Keys Z and X correspond to buttons 1/Start and 2 on the emulated console. The arrow keys correspond to the direction pad. Discussion Discuss entries in their dedicated forum threads. Discuss the competition in the competition discussion thread. How to vote Click on the "Register" link to join the forums, and you will then be able to vote in the forum topic for each entry. Please vote for all entries of a particular type, to make things fair. We will delete suspicious votes. |
