Fukio Mitsuji ("MTJ") Dead?

Found out this tragic news on a Japanese message board. Apparently, Fukio "MTJ" Mitsuji (三辻富貴朗), the designer of Bubble Bobble, Popils, and other games, passed away back in December.
There are no news articles about this that I can find. From what I can tell, this all stems from a post on a message board on Japanese social networking site Mixi. http://mixi.jp/view_bbs.pl?id=38617284&comm_id=34614 Bock, I know you can view it. Can you figure out what it says? |

キンギョ's post on Bubble Bubble community BBS:
MTJさんが亡くなりました
残念なお知らせなのですが、 バブルボブルのゲームデザイン&キャラデザインを担当した、三辻富貴朗先生が、 昨年の12月11日に亡くなりました。 腎臓疾患から胸水がたまり、心肺停止の状態となり、意識不明が 続いた末に亡くなりました。 台湾人の私に丁寧なご指導にいつも感謝しています 数ヶ月ですけど、色々お世話になりました。 "I regret to inform you that, Fukio Mitsuji, game designer and character designer of Bubble Bobble, passed away last year on december 11." Following circumstance of his death, mentionning a problem with kidneys, cardiopulmary arrest, losing conscienceness for a while before passing away. My Japanese is limited so please don't quote me on that. From キンギョ's blog: (mostly the same contents) 通信教育の先生が亡くなりました

Indeed. I'm quite shocked since I came to smspower looking for some advice about beating the Master System Bubble Bobble, and... well, I read this!!! This is the official MTJ site: http://www.mtj.co.jp/ Unfortunately I can't read Japanese and the site looks not up to date, but maybe this is the right place to find some official statement, someday. I still can't believe it! From now on, playing Bubble Bobble will be a special way of remembering him. B. |

Thats a great interview, he seemed like a really genuine person and the sort of talent that will be greatly missed from the industry.

Unless "Gêmu Dezainâsu Sukûru" (ゲームデザイナーズスクール) means something else, I'm confident it's supposed to mean "Game Designer's School", which is what Mr. Mitsuji did, according to the interview of mr0919. But, unfortunately, this is where my Japanese knowledge stops. For my last honor to Mr. Mitsuji, I wanted to give a blessing in Japanese. Unfortunately, I don't really know any, so I used a text translator. I'm very sorry for mistakes, or rudeness (if any). ふきおさまの精神の平和的空残る。 私達が決して忘れていない、ふきおさ ま。 - Changed on request by KingMike to sound more polite (Anata was rude, I know) (Translation: May your soul last in heaven peacefully. We will never forget you, Fukio-sama. - According to what I entered into the translator, this is supposed to be what is written above.) |

From what I understand あなた ("you") is rude in Japanese, and it is preferred to use the person's name instead.
But that's about as far as my Japanese skill goes. |

The MTJ Game Designer's School website is no longer up. I guess that confirms it?
