Game Gear Hand / Promotional Item
Post Posted: Wed Sep 03, 2008 11:48 am
Got this some time ago.

A cheesy, giant, french promotional item meant to hold a Game Gear in shops.
It says "SEGA GAME GEAR - La couleur c'est plus fort que toi" ("Color is stronger than you", the famous Sega catch line at that time was "Sega is stronger than you").
I'll have to take pictures with a Game Gear to refer to the scale. It's about 50 cm wide and 70 cm high.

Yes, the Game Gear has a sort of handle on the back.

No rush to put the photo up then? :P

Very classy. It reeks of the 90's but in a good way. I hope you have this somewhere in your house where all visitors can admire it's majesty. :)

Something similar (but less cool) was used in US at promotional event.

By the way, in the article there's a mention of specially marked GG balls...

At the event, SEGA had several kiddie pools filled with many foam balls, and only sixty specially marked balls. If the contestant found one of the specially marked foam balls, they won a free Game Gear with some software titles.

I had found a photo of these balls in the past but didn't know their usage until now. Unfortunately I can't remember the source.
Do we have any lucky members who won a GG? :)
