CORRECTION - SMSReader schematic
Post Posted: Mon Sep 25, 2000 9:27 pm
Hmm. So did you spot the deliberate mistake, anyone? :-)

Stupidly I got the Vcc and Ground lines of the 4040 chips mixed up on the schematic. Here's the corrected version:

The ZIP file now also contains the corrected diagram.

Sorry about that.

A question

Great, great job Mike! Its look likes so simple even me will try to
build one in the future :) BTW, if you can read from the parallel port to
the reader, there is no way to make some kind of adaptation to connect the
reader to a sms and upload the rom from the parallel port to the sms? :)

heh.
someday there'll be a 'live' devcart... someday....
it would of course involve SRAM and another heap of logic chips, all out of my field of expertise...

someday soon i think. the idea is very simple and doesn't require all that many chips. the only question is whether it's
practical to have the SMS near your PC.

a s out.

I'll damn well make it practical.

Would it require a lot more circuitry to have the sram be battery powered, so one could program the cart through the parellel port, and then bring it over and plug it in to the SMS?
