Copyright information
Post Posted: Fri Jun 22, 2007 11:46 am
Hi

I'm doing an article for portuguese Wikipedia about Wonder Boy in Monster Land, that came out to be cloned in Brazil as Mônica no Castelo do Dragão. I would like to use the scans of their boxes in my article, but I couldn't find any copyrights information in those pics, so I would like to know if I can use it or not and which information should be included with the file when I post it.

We don't have a clear license transfert policy for our scans section, so you'll have to go and ask to the person who made the scan for authorization to be published under Wikipedia's license.

Any scan by me (Bock) is granted authorization for usage under Wikipedia's terms.

Linked from every page!

Basically, the copyright is Sega's, so don't pretend it's not (ie. you are responsible if Sega get mad, even though that's very unlikely) and please don't use the images without asking the person who scanned it. Unfortunately I don't have easy "contact the scanner" links - nobody wants to make their email address public and they often become invalid over time anyway - so some are going to be hard to contact.
