Another hacked cart - 256k this time!

It seems that the chip inside my Bubble Bobble cart is a bankswitcher too. It's a 42 pin chip (above) labelled 315-5365.
Anyway, this one can support 2 Mega EPROMs without modification.
To be honest I'm 99% sure this is a "shrunk" version of the 315-5235 mentioned previously - 42 pins, for starters! Five data pins (D0 through D4) are connected, which might indicate support for 32 banks (512k). I haven't had any joy with 512k EPROMs yet, though.
What puzzles me is that this cart is dated 1991, long after Sega stopped using separate bankswitchers in most of their games! All the copies of BB I've seen have this setup.

So do mine.
It's not a "white" cartridge, thought.
If ever I had time I would go and open the billion of cartridge I have around.
I'll open the 512 kb ones first.

Well I've had no luck with 512k ROMs, thus far... I'd love to see how this is implemented in a 512k cartridge.
