How to make a GG for SMS adapter?

Does anyone have info on making a game gear adaptor for the SMS? I've got two gamegears (one needs a new part which I can easily get, but till then it doesn't work) and I was wondering if there was a way to take the cartridge slot and convert it to plug into the SMS cart slot and play it on the SMS. Now, I'm speaking mostly on ignorance here, but I do believe GG and SMS hardware are very similar, but I could be wrong.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm 100% sure this could be done, but if you play a GG game
on your SMS, there will be no start button, no stereo sound,
and bad / no colors because the palette hardware is different.
Some games would also hang trying to read the link-up ports.
(like GP Rider)
But beyond that (making most all games unplayable :) a GG game
should, in theory, work on a SMS. (Same deal with running a GG
game on a Genesis through the Super Magic Drive)
I think there is a pinout for both systems listed in the S8-DEV
docs section, if that helps.
