All your secret wishes, fullfilled by SMS Power!
Here we have the original, not well known James Pond 3 - Operation Starfi5h for the Game Gear, third of the famous James Pond series featuring your favorite fishie spy!

"No mission too dangerous, no location too hostile, James Pond is FI5H's top secret agent. A master of disguise who rubs out ennemies with a swish of a fin, Pond is about to start his most difficult mission to date... Operation Starfi5h. Good Luck!"

The first premise of this game is that Pond can run on wall of any direction. The second one is that controls are absolutly awful. Mind you, I don't like bashing games because I know making one is lots of work, but Operation Starfi5h is in good place to compete for the worse game released on Game Gear. In a way this is charming, but you'll have to be patient if you want to complete this game.

Hint: throw cheese at a mouse to kill it.
This shall be a good summary for the entire game.

Oh, and wait: try to copy down a password for this game on paper. Password are made of.. complex symbols! ..of different colors! It is so complicated it looks like a computer game protection scheme.

...and it even manages to cause trouble to MEKA.
There's a problem with CPU timing/interrupts so that MEKA database has a specific setting to make it work without glitches.

How does the glitch look if you don't have the iperiod patch?
I have a palette problem on SMSAdvance but that isn't specific to this game...

I really like this game on the Amiga, but have never heard of a GG release. Is this a prototype?

FluBBa: I recall it was a raster glitch, the bottom of the UI not staying still. You can remove the patch in meka.nam to see the result.

Idrougge: Not a prototype. It's a retail release. How was the Amiga version?

Yes, the score display scrolls incessantly on SMSplus. When will you port Meka to OSX, Bock?

I have never seen a mention of Operation Starfish for GG. It must be extremely rare, mustn't it?

The Amiga version is very fast, colourful and generally console-ish. And just as tricky.
