Travelling the world..

Ahem. Well. The game I was talking about the other day was since released by Zeograd, author the Hu-Go emulator, and you can find it here. This is actually a good news that he released it faster than us (I am a lazy bastard :(.) because our shared goal was to get it public as soon as possible. If you are interested in the full story, you read the text above which was supposed to be the text file included with our release:

29 August 2000 - Late at night

Ladies and gents,
Sega and Nec fans,
Videogames fans,

Here is for you the game you've been waiting for since years,
without even knowing about it actually. Ahem..

Sega unreleased "ala Space Harrier" shooter: Space Fantazy Zone!

As you will notice, this game is (C)1991, so it's in fact a very old game, which PC Engine fans waited for 5 years! It's only when the PC engine began to die (Sapphire late 1995, Puyo Puyo 2, Go go Birdie Chase, and lastly Dead of the Brain 1&2 in 1999!), that SFZ came off the official PC Engine Schedule... and never came out.

So this game was NEVER released, it's a PROTOTYPE (95% complete, in fact only the music is the same on all stages, and pushing Select switches to the next stage) from the Sega/NEC archives.. For years, it was available (like some other prototypes) in the Japan underground market, but it was almost impossible for us, foreigners and not deeply into that scene, to have it.

For informational purpose, the donator paid about $200 to get a copy of this game. So why do "we" release this game, for free? Here is the story:

Texashotstuff from Nec HE Shrine Mailing list (the NEC PC Engine related Mailing List) managed to get a copy of it and it was supposed to be kept between a very few "contributors" of the list, as he promised to the japanese guy who sold it to him to not release it widely or, even worse, making money by copying it and selling it for insane prices.

But a few days after he began to give it to the "few" contributors, we found it for sale for $65 on a site, and it's maybe spread more widely by now. So we decided to screw the traitor who "broke his oath" by spreading it widely for FREE, because there is no reason someone will make money on it when WE paid for it and decided to keep our promise to not release it.If it has to be spreaded, it has to be for free.

Releaser/Donator : LODA for SMS Power 2000.

Enjoy this great piece of history! :)

The game is a very good mix between Space Harrier and Fantasy Zone. Basically running a Space Harrier engine with mostly Fantasy Zone elements. In addition to the site linked above, if you can guess the right address on SMS Power you'll find a mirror there. Other mirrors were offered but unfortunately the one person who downloaded it for mirroring didn't actually mirror anything (thanks DaemoN!).

To pardon our lazyness, if even you will pardon us, here is the rarest Master System game ever made: Smurfs 2. Time for people making game list to add it, because until some time ago it was totally unknown to most collecters! This is an average platform/action game from Infogrames as if you couldn't guess (did they made a different kind of games for consoles? Tell me.).

Enjoy!
