A deep analisis on why the Game Gear failed
Post Posted: Thu Dec 23, 2004 7:03 pm
You, know, with the release of PSP I was thinking that maybe this awful mistake on Sony's part could have been avoided if, instead of the usual "GAMBOY ROCKS GG SUCKS" opinions, someone, preferably someone with a good knowledge of the Game Gear, would have written a deep analisis on why the Game Gear failed.

Maybe, for a change, SMS Power could give us something more useful and interesting than a ROM. An article analizing all the reasons from several perspectives and points of view, maybe even interviews with some of the people behind the Game Gear's development on why it was such a humongous failure, even though it IS one of the most powerful handheld gaming consoles of all time. You could even watch T.V. with the thing.

And industry analisis, the GG fans thoughts about the console, and maybe the inevitable paralell between Game Gear and the consoles that seem to be following it's steps. Maybe even valid and tried and true arguments on why power and quality doesn't always equal success.

I think this is just a request from someone who thinks the videogame industry doesn't seem to learn from its mistakes.
