" - Great Ice Hockey 87.xx.xx PAD Great Ice Hockey
Only 1000 copies were distributed through a BEEP! magazine contest
in 1987, to celebrate the release of Phantasy Star.
"
Shouldn't this read: "87.xx.xx SP"
I doubt this game could be played with a paddle, even if it was totally different than the US release.
And are you sure the 1987 year is correct? the only other Japanese Sports pad game came out in 1988 according to the list, making an extremely limited release game the first to use the Sport's pad?

That is in spring,1987.
G.I.H. and Sports pad were also given together.
Sports pad was not sold yet in Japan at the time.

You are right, this is a mistake (should say 'SP' and not 'PAD'). Please remind me if I don't fix it by next update, because I currently don't have my files around :|

Yeah. As Segabito pointed it out. That Sports Pad was made available before the official Sports Pad release.
In fact, the serial number of the Great Ice Hockey's Sports Pad clearly shows a different serie.
