why are there loads of readable code
in those two roms?
what's the sense? I guess it's not executable...but why should
a programmer use such stuff?
are there more games with stuff like that?

I don't have a single idea myself. Thank you for telling me about Marksman Shooting/Trap Shooting/Safari Hunt, I didn't know about it!

Hmm.. I haven't discovered any other yet. Note that Space Harrier has an interesting message at the very end, but a Japanese guy told us how to show the message in the actual game.

I don't remember, you have to fill the highscore table with a certain name, "ENI" i think

The following is an excerpt from an e-mail YONE sent to the SMS mailing list:

I read how to get the secret message on "Beep!" the Japanese
game-magazine about 13 years ago :). It's very simple.

"Enter the name `ERI' at the all name-entry ranking."

You'll be able to get enough high score when you clear the 1st
stage. Then you should lose all left players, and enter "ERI"
on name entry screen. If you repeat that 7 times and fill all
ranking name with "ERI", you can get the secret message.

Have fun!
