The game is surely based on that old TV show (which MAY ressurrect !) but the show isn't based on a comic. It's based on (probably) one (or more than one) of Monteiro Lobato's books.
Monteiro Lobato is a well known writer for his amazing work on 'brazilian literature for children' :)
(and some characters really look funny :P)

Yes, I agree.
It is a old classic literature for children here in Brazil. Writen many books with the tales of ´Sitio do Pica-Pau Amarelo´ It´s something like the ´Farm of the Yellow Woodpecker´.
