Master System Action Replay (GameShark) reproduction

Hi all,
I've reproduced the quite rare Master System Action Replay cheat cartridge. The reproduced board is functionnaly identical and has the exact same dimensions as the OG one: If anyone is interested I sell those repros for 35€ + shipping (PCB only, fully assembled). There are 3 possibilities for the shell: - use the OG AR shell - modify the shell of any other game but you'd need to drill a hole on the left for the switch and cut an opening at the top for the cartridge port - the last option is 3D printing, I have adapted the design from bierdosenhalter who shared it under Creative Commons licence - Attribution - Non-Commercial - Share Alikelicense, which my adapted version inherits. 3D printing files are available there: https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/fs-action-replay-gameshark-reproduction-... P.S.: I've dumped the ROM and submitted it for preservation (might also be useful to save faulty units): https://git.redump.net/mame/commit/?id=2efc649c73c5c3bb80042bf8671640b9666f1b8f |

Awesome! AR is a must if you want to beat certain games without hours of frustration! To me, Afterburner (that last boss is sooo cheap) and Space Harrier 3D are two games for which the AR is mandatory! '^^ | |

This is awesome! When you write "PCB only, fully assembled", what is and isn't included? Were I to purchase one, would I also need to separately source the needed IC's? What about the toggle switch and the guest cartridge edge connector socket? And if the IC's are included with the purchase, are they already flashed/programmed or would I also need to find suitable device flashing/programming equipment of my own?
Thanks, and I'm really happy to see this development! edit: also, would I need to do any soldering of my own to make use of this PCB or is that already done? |

Fully assembled means you get the PCB populated with all the parts (ICs, switch, cartridge connector), soldered and programmed. Ready to be used.
What's missing is the shell, which I'm considering printing in black and offering at an extra cost. |

Nice! I'd like to buy one from you, then - ideally with a shell once you've decided on a price for that part. How should I contact you to arrange payment and shipping? |

Hi guys.
I'm trying different things to get the shell printed with good quality and not too much time. So far no great results, best I can do for now is 1 shell in 6 or 7h, monopolising the printer way too much... |

Hey,
I'm good thanks. I haven't found anything satisfying in term of quality and print time so far. So I'm just selling bare PCBs (assembled) for now. |

I'd like to get one of these too. The official one that I paid an arm and a leg for a few years back doesn't seem to be working.
I've heard the official ones won't work on a Japanese Master System. I assume this will have the same limitations? |
