This book has a section about SC-3000 / SG-1000 history and includes a couple of pictures from Sega's stand at the 1983 Tokyo Toy Show (June 16 -19). This show was covered in Game Machine here and here. One of the pictures is a close up of the various software boxes on display including three unreleased titles, "Up'n Down", Education Cartridge "Graphic" (mentioned here as unused product code E-102), and "Billiard", which may have become Champion Billiards, but that released over three years later so may be unrelated. In addition Golgo 13 and Orguss have different boxart to the final versions, "Sindbad Mystery" is just called "Sindbad", "Mahjong" is called "Mahjone" (not the last time they would struggle with getting that right), and some of the Japanese titles are also different. Where it says "Game Cartridge for SC-3000 or SG1000" on released boxes it adds the product code on these boxes. |
